PROVIDENCE, R.I. (April, 2008) -- The Bangor Daily News has selected Creative Circle Advertising Solutions (CCAS) to upgrade their web sites and to design and build new ones. The company will deploy the full suite of CCAS software, including communityQ, mediasiteQ and adQ: Intelligent classifieds.
"The team in Bangor appreciated that we bring 25 years of consulting experience to the table," says Bill Ostendorf, CEO of CCAS. "With our roots in content, new product development and great design they knew that we could deliver much more than the typical software vendor. We bring ideas and solutions to the table, along with a deep understanding of what readers and users want."
CCAS will redesign bangordailynews.com on the mediasiteQ platform, which gives editors the ability to let the design of today's web pages reflect the importance of the day's news. Using a series of templates, editors will be able to "turn up the volume" on stories with the click of a mouse.
"We don't think newspaper sites should work like bank sites," says Ostendorf. "Editors should have the same kind of control over design on their web sites that they have over page one of the print edition. Other software firms just didn't get the news."
CCAS will also build and launch a citizen journalism portal and several specialty sites for the Daily News.
Creative Circle Advertising Solutions, Inc., builds best-of-breed software for media companies to create user-generated content and revenue. Products include adQ: Intelligent classifieds, which is the only classified entry system that actually helps users write an effective ad, and communityQ, the leading citizen journalism software in the United States. Clients include NBC, The Chicago Tribune, CNHI, North Jersey Media Group and Media General.
CCAS is based in Providence, R.I., and can be reached at (401) 455-1555 or
